Breakdowns and Repairs

The Model G1 truck was put on the market in December 1935; however, due to the extreme short development period, truck experienced frequent breakdowns. One of these was the rear axle breakage. The cause of the breakage was that the engineers couldn't figure out the welding method employed on Ford trucks during development, and this resulted in the team's using a wrong method. Kiichiro and his team ran around with the dealerships to make repairs and improve the defects one by one. It was only after more than 800 improvements that they were able to offer stable quality trucks.
