1. Circular Loom(5 min.)

This symbolizes the “spirit of being studious and creative” that the museum tries to communicate. It is the original loom invented in 1906 by Sakichi Toyoda, the founder of the Toyota Group, and it weaves fabric using a rotating circular motion.

2. Steam Engine(5 min.)

Built over 100 years ago, this Swiss-built Steam Engine is the largest in Japan. Its powerful drive is sure to amaze any visitor.

3. Live TECHNO Show(15 min.)

The principles/mechanisms of fibers and automobiles are explained in an easy-to-understand manner using experiments and models.

4. Casting(10 min.)

Watch the coagulation of molten metal poured into metal and sand molds. This demonstration shows the casting of a small aluminum cylinder block.

5. Forging(4 min.)

View the processing of shaping room temperature or hot metal into an object by applying pressure with special tools. This demonstration shows the forging of a miniature connecting rod.

6. Cutting(7 min.)

Watch the processing of cutting or trimming metal with a blade. This demonstration shows the process of finishing a forged object by trimming it on a lathe.

7. Violin Performance by a Partner Robot

Debuted at the Japan Pavilion during the Shanghai Expo in 2010, it came to the museum in June 2014. It is a bipedal walking partner robot, who can play the violin with its delicate fingering and arm movements, just like a human. Performance
